Alterations/change-outs:
- Duct sealing and testing: Alternatives to duct sealing have been eliminated. Installing high AFUE or EER/SEER equipment is no longer a substitute. (zones 2, 9 – 16)
- Temperature measurement access holes must be provided in supply and return plenums. (zones 2, 8 – 15)
- Refrigerant charge measurement required, TXV verification is no longer an alternative. NOTE: Refrigerant charge must be verified even when doing only a furnace change-out. (zones 2, 8 – 15)
- Minimum airflow must be verified, 300 cfm/ton. (zones 2, 8 – 15)
- Cooling coil airflow verified, 350/ton. (zones 10 – 15)
- Fan watt draw measurement required (zones 10 – 15)
- Saturation temp sensors must be provided (zones 10 – 15)
- Static pressure probe: permanent probe or access holes must be provided in supply plenum (zones 10 – 15)
New construction (including major additions):
Duct sealing and testing and other measures are required unless otherwise indicated on the CF-1R.
